Healthy Eating

Of course, all of this exercise should be used in conjunction with a healthy diet.

On this page are a few guidelines for maintaining a healthy diet daily!

                                                     The food pyramid

The food pyramid is a very rough outline of what to eat each day. The key with every day eating is to get a variety of foods. This way you will get all the nutrients that you need and at the same time the right amount of calories to maintain or improve your weight. The pyramid also focusses on fat as most diets are too high in fat, especially saturated fat.

One portion is equal to;

Healthy fats - 2 tbsp nuts or seeds / oily fish fish size of a deck of cards

Milk - 1 cup of milk / 40g of cheese (size of 4 dice)

Meat - One small chicken breast

Vegetables - About the size of your palm

Fruit - About the size of a tennis ball

Grain - 2 slices of bread / handful of pasta, rice etc

  Drink at least 2 litres (8      glasses) of water a day     to stay healthy!
